Livermore Downtown Inc. (LDI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the economic health, vitality, and promotion of Downtown Livermore. As a nationally recognized Main Street Program, LDI works to preserve and enhance the heart of Livermore through partnerships, events, marketing initiatives, and advocacy for the downtown business community.

Who We Are Looking For

The Marketing & Events Assistant will play an integral role in supporting Livermore Downtown Inc.'s programs, promotions, and special events under the direction of the Executive Director. This position is ideal for an organized, creative, self-motivated professional who enjoys working with businesses, community members, volunteers, and event attendees.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with marketing initiatives, stakeholder communications, event coordination, and administrative support while helping advance the organization's goals and objectives.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with social media marketing, including Facebook, Instagram, and other digital platforms.
  • Experience creating and scheduling content using marketing tools such as Canva, Constant Contact, or similar programs.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and willingness to learn new software systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience working with businesses, community organizations, volunteers, or public agencies is preferred.
  • Positive attitude, professionalism, and commitment to the mission of Livermore Downtown Inc.
  • Photography, graphic design, and event planning experience are highly desirable.

Sample Job Duties

Marketing & Communications

  • Create and schedule social media content.
  • Assist with email marketing campaigns and newsletters.
  • Update website content and event information.
  • Develop promotional materials and marketing collateral.
  • Assist with photography and content creation.
  • Monitor and respond to stakeholder inquiries.

Event Support

  • Assist with planning, promotion, and execution of downtown events and programs.
  • Coordinate event logistics and volunteers.
  • Support event setup, operations, and breakdown.
  • Maintain event records, registrations, and reports.

Stakeholder Relations & Administration

  • Serve as a point of contact for downtown businesses, property owners, and community members.
  • Maintain databases, records, and tracking systems.
  • Assist with membership outreach and business engagement.
  • Attend meetings and provide administrative support as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Must be available to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays for events and programs.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds when assisting with event setup and breakdown.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods during events.
  • Must possess a valid California Driver's License and reliable transportation.
  • Must successfully work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail.

Compensation

Hourly rate commensurate with experience. $24-$26/hr DOE.
