Our high-energy Greek Mediterranean restaurant located in the heart of downtown, is seeking experienced and dynamic 21+ Servers to join our team. We need professionals who thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and can deliver authentic Greek hospitality. The ideal candidate will have strong food and wine knowledge, and a strict commitment to responsible alcohol service.
Exceptional Guest Service: Greet guests warmly with true filoxenia (hospitality), guide them through our Greek and Mediterranean menu, and efficiently manage their dining experience from seating to payment.
Menu Expertise: Master our menu, including classic Greek dishes (Souvlaki, Mousaka, etc.), and be able to articulate ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens.
Beverage and Wine Service:
Make informed recommendations for food and wine pairings.
Responsible Alcohol Service (Mandatory):
Strictly verify the age (21+) of all guests ordering or consuming alcohol by checking valid ID.
Adhere to all state and local laws regarding the sale and service of alcoholic beverages.
Monitor guests for signs of intoxication and politely, but firmly, refuse service when necessary.
Order and Speed Management: Accurately take and input high volumes of food and beverage orders using the POS system during peak hours, ensuring quick and accurate delivery to maintain table turnover.
Team Collaboration: Work seamlessly with the kitchen, bar, and host staff to ensure a smooth, efficient operation, especially during busy shifts.
Cash Handling: Process guest payments accurately and reconcile checks and tips at the end of the shift.
Qualifications:
Age Requirement: Must be 21 years of age or older.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent serving experience in a full-service, high-volume, and fast-paced restaurant. (Preferred)
Skill Set: Proven ability to multitask and remain calm and efficient under pressure.
Knowledge: Prior experience or enthusiasm for Greek, Mediterranean, or similar ethnic cuisine and wine is a significant advantage.
Certification: Current TIPS/ServSafe Alcohol certification or the ability to obtain it immediately upon hire.
Availability: Must be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, particularly during the downtown rush periods.
Physical: Ability to stand, walk, and carry heavy trays for long periods.
Salary Range:16.50 DOE, plus tips
