a head start on the Holiday Shopping!
Livermore Downtown Inc. is hosting the 8th Annual “Earlier Than the Bird; Shopping Celebration” On November 17, 2012. And for the third year, The Pleasanton Downtown Association will host their 3rd “Earlier Than the Bird” event! This popular event is designed to launch the Holiday Shopping Season in a unique and entertaining fashion, capturing the Holiday Shopping dollars before the Corporate Retail launch on Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. Livermore’s and Pleasanton’s downtown retail shops will be open at 7 AM, offering refreshments to their patrons to keep them fueled. There will be special offers, added value campaigns and… to make this really a fun time… shoppers, in Livermore, will receive a free messenger bag as a gift, IF they are wearing their pajamas!
“The Holiday Season is the most important revenue generating quarter for our small businesses in downtowns.” Says Livermore Downtown Executive Director, Rachael Snedecor. “It is imperative that independent business owners find unique ways to attract consumers to discover the specialty products and services to be found in Main Street Commercial districts.”
The California Main Street Alliance is working closely with Downtown Districts across the State of California to create awareness and gain commitment to the “Shop Local” movement. Rachael Snedecor, as past President of the California Main Street Alliance, invites all downtowns to join in hosting the “Earlier Than The Bird” event in their districts. “This year we are thrilled to have our neighboring, sister downtown of Pleasanton joining the party!” says Snedecor. “Tri Valley residents now have the opportunity to enjoy two historic downtown districts for this fun “Slumber Party” style shopping event!” Laura Olson, Executive Director of the Pleasanton Downtown Association, states “Our Downtown Pleasanton businesses are excited to partner with Livermore on this unique and exciting event. Events like these are what our local Downtowns are all about – an inviting, fun and festive environment for everyone to enjoy while shopping and dining!”
This event will be launching a Holiday Season that will generate income for more than just the business owners. Much needed sale tax revenue will be generated for Alameda County and for the local communities of Livermore and Pleasanton.
